Louisiana Pain Specialists’ India COVID Relief Efforts

Louisiana Pain Specialists’ mission is not only to improve health outcomes in our community, but also it is our responsibility as healthcare providers and wellness advocates to develop a response to humanitarian and healthcare crises on a local, state, national, and global level. We must aim to recognize the devastating health gaps that not only exist amongst our local patient population, but also around the world.

To this end, we recognize a second wave of Covid-19 is sweeping across India, and the country’s healthcare system is overwhelmed. New Orleans may be thousands of miles away from India, but Louisiana Pain Specialists is dedicated to responding to a global call-to-action for India’s Covid-19 crisis through donations, awareness, and outreach.

Our current President and CEO, Dr. Suneil “Neil” Jolly is an American Indian with close ties to New Orleans’ Indian community. Throughout the months of May, June, and July, Louisiana Pain Specialists would like to announce that we will be donating a portion of all new patient visits to Covid-19 relief efforts in India.

In addition to our new patient visit contributions, on May 23, 2021, Dr. Jolly and Louisiana Pain Specialists, in partnership with the dedicated local community in New Orleans, hosted the “Nola Tennis Mania 2021,” an event at City Park geared towards raising funds for Covid-19 relief efforts in India. A collaborative effort between the community, healthcare partnerships, and numerous entities/organizations locally, Nola Tennis Mania was able to raise over $7000 which will be donated to organizations such as Sewa International, Dasra, and Red Cross-India. This will go to basic needs in smaller villages and life-saving PPE/ventilators.
