Dr. Erik Davis Named 2023 Health Care Hero by New Orleans CityBusiness
We are proud to announce that Dr. Erik Davis has been named a New Orleans CityBusiness Health Care Hero!
Beginning in 2007, the Health Care Heroes award honors health care professionals in the New Orleans area in the following categories: nursing, physicians, professionals and volunteers. Honorees are selected based on industry achievement and community involvement.
Along with the other award winners, Dr. Davis will be celebrated and recognized on October 9, 2023, during a ceremony at the New Orleans Museum of Art. A special Health Care Hero insert profiling all honorees will run in the Oct. 20 issue of CityBusiness.
Dr. Davis is a double-board certified physician in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Management.
A graduate of McMain High School in New Orleans, Dr. Davis earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, after completing his undergraduate studies at Xavier University in New Orleans. He went on to complete a year of surgical internship training at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
He finished his medical training with an interventional spine and sports medicine fellowing at Alabama Orthopedic Spine and Sports Medicine Associates in Birmingham. Before returning to his hometown of New Orleans to join Louisiana Pain Specialists in 2021, he worked at the National Spine & Pain Centers in Fairfax, Virginia.
